Meet Tracy Foels—Licensed Therapist in Lacey

Hi—I'm Tracy, a therapist and possibility thinker devoted to helping you grow more joy, calm, and connection in your life.

Whether you're a child navigating big emotions, a teen finding your voice, or an adult feeling stuck in overwhelm, I'll help you believe in yourself again—even if that feels impossible right now.

Let's Connect

Being a Therapist Has Been a Lifelong Passion

In my early teens, I was drawn to a television character who was a therapist and the work she did to help others. I'd always been curious about understanding people—the stories behind their feelings, experiences, and what motivates them.

That curiosity led me to school counseling, where I saw firsthand how anxiety, stress, and ADHD struggles impacted entire families. Students often carry weights too heavy for their young shoulders, while parents feel helpless to ease the pain. These experiences didn't just inform my practice—they fueled my compassion for this work.

What keeps me inspired after decades in this field? Being present when a client realizes they're stronger than they thought. Hearing an anxious teen find their voice. Watching a burned-out parent rediscover joy in everyday little moments with their child. Nothing compares to having the honor of being there as someone returns to themselves.

How I Work: Approach & Beliefs

Trust and Connection Always Come First

Therapy with me starts with building trust and genuine connection—a safe, nonjudgmental space where your experience is honored. I approach every session with empathetic curiosity, not as an expert with all the answers, but as a partner who believes in your capacity to heal and grow.

Finding the Root Cause of Stress, Anxiety & Overwhelm

Quick fixes rarely last. Instead, we explore what's underneath your stress, anxiety, or overwhelm. Maybe it's old patterns from childhood, being stuck in "doing" mode, or a chronic illness that impacts your emotional well-being. Peeling away the layers to uncover the source brings true understanding and lasting change.

Practical Tools & Strategies for Everyday Life

Insight without action leaves you stuck. I provide concrete, tailored strategies you can use immediately—whether that's managing panic attacks, setting boundaries, navigating difficult conversations, or building resilience during major life changes. Knowledge is key to healing, and I'm here to offer both understanding and skills.

Helping You Find Calm, Confidence & Connection

  • Anxiety management became central to my work after watching countless students and families struggle under its weight. I help clients find calm without losing their edge.

  • ADHD support holds special significance from my school counseling years, where I saw capable children and teens internalize feelings of failure. Understanding how ADHD impacts emotional regulation, relationships, and self-worth drives my compassionate approach.

  • Life transitions or chronic health challenges run through nearly every client's story. Whether it's career changes, relationship shifts, health diagnoses, or military life, transitions require us to let go of one version of ourselves while discovering another. My own experience navigating chronic health issues deeply informs my work with those who walk a similar path.

What Makes Working with Me Different

I celebrate my introvert strengths, which means I understand the power of quiet reflection. I find my reset along the Deschutes River or on the Chehalis Western Trail—and you may notice me gently encouraging time in nature for you too. My awkward, corny humor may sneak into sessions—sometimes laughter really is the best medicine.

MIllersylvania State Park

I've had many rich lived experiences that shape how I show up in sessions—navigating chronic health issues, parenting in a blended family, and years as a military family member. These experiences bring genuine understanding, not just textbook knowledge.

What sets my practice apart isn't fancy techniques or trendy approaches. It's the genuine belief that you know yourself best, even when you feel lost. I won't treat you as a diagnosis or a problem to fix. Together we'll uncover and celebrate your unique strengths while helping you recognize and change patterns that no longer serve you.

This commitment to honoring the whole person is rooted in a core belief: you deserve to belong. Not just in community, but to yourself—feeling at home in your own skin, confident in your worth, connected to what matters most. I'm committed to creating that kind of space where everyone feels seen and valued.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. I’d be honored to support you—reach out to schedule your free consultation, and we'll walk together to help you grow more joy, calm and connection in your life.
